Omaha Rollergirls move up the ranks and prepare for 2013 season in Ralston

The Omaha Rollergirls placed 7th in the 2012 South Central Regional Tournament held in Lincoln, NE. Omaha played Texas, Nashville and Tallahassee twice and went 2-2 to move up from the 8th they came in to the tournament.

Omaha had a solid win against 9th ranked Tallahassee Friday morning and progressed through the bracket to play top seeded Texas Friday night. The expected loss against Texas brought Omaha to a third round game against Nashville on Saturday. Omaha and Nashville battled back and forth through the first half but Nashville took control of the second half and won 198-126. Omaha then went up against Tallahassee a second time to fight for 7th place. Omaha had a comfortable lead throughout the game and ended with a 132-118 win.

The tournament marked the end of the Omaha Rollergirls 2012 season. Their efforts now turn to their inaugural 2013 season and the new Ralston Arena at 72nd and Q Street. The Omaha Rollergirls will open their season on Feb. 9, 2013 and will consist of 6 home games. The Omaha Rollergirls will be training and conditioning during the off season in order to open the season strong.
