Omaha Rollergirls to host a Bootcamp/Training Seminar, Oct 20-21

Are you a newer skater looking to increase your skill set? Are you an intermediate or advanced skater wanting to refine and hone your skills? The Omaha Rollergirls are hosting a Boot Camp on October 20th and 21st for other leagues in the area that are looking to improve their game.The Omaha Rollergirls are offering our neighbor leagues a chance to work with our All Star skaters to get a head start on next season.

Our instructors will include Ima Firestarter, Anna Maniac, Midlife Crashes, D’Naille Inya Coffin, Auntie Embolism, Daisy Mayhem, Axl Rogue and other members of the ORG All Star Team.Our day and a half boot camp will consist of general skills practice as well as drills designed for blockers and jammers, off skates workouts, and classroom trainings on concepts and strategy. Sunday will consist of scrimmaging with and against the ORG All Stars as well as the other Boot Camp participants.

Some of the trainings/classes offered include:

• Cutting & Hitting
• Jammer strategies
• Wall Building & Wall Breaking
• Blocker Techniques
• Jammer Techniques & Agility
• Off Skates Workouts

All Boot Camp participants must meet the following requirements:

• Must be 19 or older
• Must be female
• Must be an active member of a women’s roller derby league
• Must be able to pass the WFTDA minimum skills requirement
• Must have WFTDA or USARS coverage

When: October 20, 2012 8:00 am – 6:00 pm and October 21, 2012 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

Where: ORG Practice Facility, 9006-I Maple Street, Omaha, NE

Cost: $50*

*Registration fees are non-refundable. Cost includes light breakfast and snacks on both days and lunch on Saturday.
