Westside HS Career Center teams up with Omaha Rollergirls
On October 31st, the Westside High School Career Center teamed up with the Omaha Rollergirls for a “Donald Trump Apprentice Style” school project. Over 90 students broke up into groups of 4-7 and were asked to develop “Promotional Plans” to help promote the ORG’s season opener on Feb 18th, 2012. The school had professionals in the areas of Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations and Social Media coach the students in preparation of the assignment. As a little incentive to “knock it out of the park” the 1st place teams were told that they would win free front row floor seats to the season opener game.
A team of judges from the Omaha Rollergirls returned later the week of October 31st to watch the student presentations. The hard work was obvious and the creative ideas were abundant! After much deliberation, the judges picked their favorites and headed back to Westside on November 14th to announce the winners. Congratulations go out to the following winners:
