Omaha Rollergirls to host a fundraising event for Sk8 the State for MS
Stop out at the Sydney (5918 Maple Street) on Wednesday, August 24th between 8:00 – 11:00 pm and play Derby Girl Bingo with the Omaha Rollergirls and the Sk8 the State Girls… all in an effort to help our derby sisters raise money and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
A total of six games will be played between 8-11pm… and the Bingo cards can be purchased that night for $1 per card or $5 for six cards. Totally awesome prizes will be available for the Bingo winners! The Sydney will also offer a special “MS orange” shot for the night. All proceeds from the Bingo and MS Shot will go to the Sk8 the State fundraising efforts!
What is Sk8 the State?
Sk8 the State, a fundraising movement piloted by five Siouxland women, will be rolling through Nebraska this year to raise money to fight MS. During the final week of August these five skaters will traverse Nebraska, beginning at the Kansas border and traveling north to their hometown of Sioux City, Iowa. They are relying on donations of equipment, food, lodging and anything else that they will need to get through the 5-day journey. The group is accepting donations through Wells Fargo Bank; information about making donations of any kind can also be found on their Facebook page or their blog.
