Do you love extreme sports? Then you’ll love seeing the Omaha Rollergirls in action. The sport of roller derby is sweeping the world, and one of the best teams is right here in Omaha. Fast and athletic, our girls compete at the highest level and are adding fans and supporters at record rates.
Since our first season in 2006, the Omaha Rollergirls have experienced exponential growth in fan base along with local, national, and international recognition. In 2011, we moved our home games to the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, IA to accommodate this growth. We average approximately 2,000 fans per game with a single game attendance record of 3,300 fans.
The Omaha Rollergirls are a not-for-profit organization and are skater owned and operated. The league is entirely volunteer-based; no one receives monetary compensation – from the skaters to the trainers and coaches, to the officials and even members of the board of directors. The girls pay their own way and even circulate through the crowd each game to to interact with fans and answer questions about our sport.
