Omaha Roller Derby News Release
The Omaha Rollergirls are excited to announce our decision to re-brand our league as Omaha Roller Derby (ORD). The change from Omaha Rollergirls to Omaha Roller Derby will allow us to better represent the diversity of our league’s members, to include skaters, referees, and volunteers alike.
The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association recently expanded its gender policy to show support for members who identify as female, male, or gender-expansive. As ORD encompasses a variety of people in our active roller derby teams (All Stars and AAA), junior league (OJRD), referees, NSOs, volunteers, and fans, we feel it is time for a similar expansion to our own identity. The new name better reflects our devotion to fostering an all-inclusive environment in our community.
